commercial:: green flora greenhouses, ltd.

yesterday afternoon was an uncommonly dry and sunny day for march in BC, so, marks. and i decided to get out and start cleaning up our flower beds. we'd seen a bit on tv over the weekend about plants and growing gardens and i think the bug has bit at least one of us [i'm a reluctant participant and don't do well taking orders on how to weed, but, marks. is a patient job foreman :-).]. i very much enjoy the finished product, though, and cannot wait to see how our property takes shape in the next few weeks.

today is back to normal and the rain is falling; there's even threat of windstorms! it's nearly naptime for me, but, i wanted to share some images i was hired to shoot last spring for my friends, peter and karen, who own and operate green flora greenhouses, ltd. they needed web images and let me have free reign to shoot whatever struck my fancy; we had a fun family shoot in the greenhouse, as well... even though people are far and above my favorite subject, i relished this opportunity to stretch myself a little bit creatively. plants make for very patient and easy-going subjects, it turns out. i don't think any of them were stressed by how they looked, either ;-).

these images make me ready for spring! hope they inspire you to look around and enjoy some growing things in your life.

kevin and cody-anne:: ((are having a baby)) on a balcony! bike! bridge! and a beach!

having shared a bit about kevin and cody-anne in my last post, they need no introduction here. in case you missed reading it, though, we basically started our session with cody-anne telling me they had just found out they are expecting [their baby girl is due in july of this year!]. i just want to say how much i LOVED shooting their portraits... these were shot downtown in vancouver, on a veeeerrrryyy cold, windy day. kevin actually went to starbucks part-way through the shoot to buy us tea! kevin and cody-anne are both a dream in front of the lens, seperate and together. i hope i get to work with them again... maternity portraits, perhaps :-).

another thing i liked with this shoot is the chance to experiment a bit. kevin and cody-anne were super patient while i played around some with a tilt-shift lens i rented. though not absolutely successful by my standards, i still like what we created together.

just wanted to add, though i'm not involved in the wedding industry anymore, if you're looking for engagement, anniversary, or "just because" photos as a couple, definitely look me up. i love sessions with couples!

in the meantime, here's some kevin and cody-anne love to make you happy. cheers!

a curious seagull decided to make an appearance as "that guy" ;-).
