personal:: goals for september

i love how making a list of goals can help me stay productive and prioritized. my lovely fellow photographer friend, tori, gave me this idea a few months back; i'm finally getting around to using this blog for a bit more than just posting recent shoots [no worries, though, i won't neglect the picture-sharing!]. it's september, and i love how, even though i'm not going back to school [or sending anyone to school, for that matter.], it feels like a new beginning! it helps that i'm feeling a lot more settled into our new home. anyway, here's to accomplishing things and in october, i will revisit this list and see how much i got done. so, without further ado, my goals for september::

mission, bc, family session:: the jordans

the heart of this spectacular young family is my lovely friend, elektra. we met a year-and-a-half ago in a waiting room, immediately connecting as two women who had no qualms chatting up strangers. when i left that day, i kicked myself for not getting her number. i decided to call the medical office, hoping for a chance they would give me her number, but, doubting that was protocol. imagine my delight when the receptionist informed me elektra had told them to give me her number. :-)

i don't think i know anyone with more energy than elektra, so, when she booked a shoot with me i was super excited to work with her, knowing it would be tons of fun, along with her wonderful man, pat, and their darling collection of girlies. elektra had scouted out an amazing spot for us to shoot; an old barn in rural mission. i loved it. i had such a blast shooting these ((as well as creating the piece at the end per elektra's request.)). enjoy!

their family has a tradition for their girls to wear this sari in a portrait during age 2. i love how these turned out! little s was such a model.

gorgeous couple.

i LOVE this one.

this shot is intended to be a canvas for their wall. i'm sure mothers of young ones can all relate... being a mommy is a busy job!
